A: After you register on GoAnimate.com, we send you a confirmation email. This is to make sure the email address you provided is genuine. If you haven’t done so, check your email inbox (and your spam folder just in case) for our email and click on the link there. This will activate your account and enable your login.

A: Mostly there is a problem with your password. The best is to reinitialize it and try to login again. Go to the password reinitialization page and input your email address. Inside the email we send click the link to change your password.

A: All the movies you create are displayed on your user page. To access this page, click on the “My page” link on the top right of the website. This will lead you to your own page where all your movies are displayed.

A: You have a link to edit your movie on the corresponding movie page just below the player. From your user page, you also have the option to edit your movie using the buttons in your animations list.

A: Yes! You can check the Domo Animate platform at http://domo.goanimate.com for a version of our site that does not contain inappropriate content. There, all animations are reviewed and users cannot upload their own assets, thus ensuring a well controlled environment. Send us an email at support@goanimate.com if you have specific needs not addressed by the Domo Animate platform.

A: The animation will appear on the channel of the dominant theme, which in turn is determined based on the characters and assets you used in your animation.

A: Karma points are a way to identify unconstructive or inappropriate comments and messages on the site. When you leave a comment, if it is not appropriate other users may flag it as inappropriate. If the karma level of your comment reaches “zero”, it is then grayed out. The starting number of karma points is determined based on the posting user’s level.

A: At the moment, we only provide few channels based on the themes available on the platform. Your user page is your own channel page.

A: It takes time to build your audience, so don’t worry if at first you don’t get many views. The best way to grow your audience is to share your animations on other sites. You can also interact with other users, become their fan and share their animations as well. The connections you make on GoAnimate will help you get more views.

A: Yes. We have a download button right below the animation player on the animation page. Use this to save your animation as a high-definition video and upload it on YouTube. We optimized the video format so that it looks great on YouTube even in full screen.

A: Use our character creator to build your own cast of characters. It’s quick and easy to have a full range of varied characters. If you know how to use Adobe Flash and would like to upload your own Flash animation to GoAnimate you can upgrade your account to GoPlus, which allows Flash uploads. Contact us directly at support@goanimate.com if you have a larger project in mind or content you own you’d like to make available on GoAnimate.

A: Go to “Sounds & Voices” in the import section of the studio to access related features. You can search for sounds, record yourself over the phone or record yourself on your computer and upload the file as an MP3. Check out this article on our blog for more info.

A: We do not have any downloadable version of GoAnimate for now. It is purely an online tool. We may consider developing such a tool in the future though. If you are interested in such a product let us know at sales@goanimate.com.

We optimize backgrounds for HD video by resizing images to 720 px in height when it’s uploaded. The best is to make the image 1119px by 720px, which fits our player exactly. If you don’t intend to export your movie in HD you can make your background the size of our default player, which is 550px by 354px. This size works well for the player on our site and for Youtube. But it won’t look as good in full screen.

A: Levels represent how powerful users are on GoAnimate. When you get badges or gain movie views, you are awarded experience points (XP) and GoPoints. Collect enough XP and you will rise in level.

A: The easiest way to get GoPoints is to get badges. Each time you get a badge, you are awarded XP and GoPoints. You also get GoPoints when your movies accumulate views or when you share other people\s animations.

A: Everytime you visit your user page, we suggest three missions that are appropriate for your level. Completing those missions to get badges is the best way to earn GoPoints. Making animations that get shared a lot on Facebook and generate many views gives out tons of GoPoints too.

A: You can easily share animations by clicking on the sharing buttons while watching a movie. You can send links to the animations to your friends by email, on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. If you have a website, you can also put a link or directly embed the animation there. It’s pretty simple. For most social networks, all you need is to login on the corresponding website and the sharing is done.

A: There are two ways to refer people to GoAnimate. First you can send friends an invitation email using the form on your user page. The second way is to share movies with your friends (email, Facebook, embeds,etc.). If they follow the link you sent them and register on GoAnimate, then you get a referred friend. As explained above, as your referred friends get movie views, you in turn collect GoPoints faster.

A: As you increase your level, it gets harder and harder to reach the next. On your dashboard page, there is a bar that tells you how many more XP do you need to gain another level

A: You can use your GoPoints to acquire special premium characters and props on the platform. Don’t worry. Using your GoPoints will not affect your level on the platform. Levels are controlled by XP.

A: GoBucks are the virtual currency used on GoAnimate. They are used to purchase premium assets or gain access to special features on GoAnimate. Assets and features will be continually added as the site continues to grow.

A: There are several ways for you to purchase GoBucks. From your user page, go to the add GoBucks page to see the different options which include PayPal, mobile payment and special reward offers.

A: You can spend your GoBucks to purchase characters directly in our animation studio and our character creator as well as to download your animations as videos.

A: We want to make the GoAnimate community a place of mutual respect and tolerance. As a result, we may hide some animations from the community when we think they are inappropriate. If your animation has been hidden, you can remove the inappropriate content and save it again. It will be published as soon as it is reviewed. Here are the types of contents we may ask you to remove:

• Pornography, Nudity, and Sex
• Illegal drug use
• Intense violence involving real humans
• Profanity, Race Abuse, and Hate Speech

A: You have chosen a word that is inappropriate with the character you selected. Our system has identified your word as inappropriate and scrambles it to demonstrate that you must select a new word.

A: We really appreciate your help in keeping GoAnimate a creative and friendly place to hang out on the Web. If a user is harassing you, trolling our forums, posting inappropriate content or asking for users’ personal information, please email us at support@goanimate.com or send a message to an admin on the site with the URL of that user’s profile page.

Do not post about this in the forums as these issues should be handled in private. Even if you think the person behaves bad, it is still a breach of our Terms of Use if you post bad things about an individual user on the public forums. Use private messages or emails.

A: First, you need to become a fan of that person. Then, visit that person’s page and hit the “Add Friend” button. You will see them in your Meebo friend list after they have added you as their friend too. As always, remember not to disclose personal information to anyone.

A: Friendship is a two-way relationship. After you have added people as friends, they need to acknowledge and add you back as friend too. When this is done, you will see them in your Meebo friend list.

A: Go to that friend’s page on GoAnimate and hit the “Remove Friend” button.

A: The option is available both on your user page and on the corresponding animation page. On the animation page, the “Download animation” button is located right below the player. Make sure you are logged in to the site or the button won’t appear.

A: The video is saved as mpeg4 (H264, 1280×720, 3,200 Kbps, 24 frames/s) with the audio as AAC (44100Hz, 128Kbps, stereo). In other words… it’s pretty high quality. If you don’t already, you will have to install Quicktime to watch it on your computer or you can just directly upload it to YouTube. In the personal use version, we also add a GoAnimate watermark and end credit scene. Download a commercial use video if you do not want these.

A: If the video you downloaded does not work or has problems, contact us using this form and we will re-process it to make sure it is up to standards. In general we have a no-refund policy.

A: No, we do not update the mpeg4 version of your animation if you modify it after converting it. If you want to create an updated version you will need to convert your animation again.

A: This feature is only available to GoResell business account holders.  They are able to download their videos with no watermark and no end credit, by selecting the “Commercial Use” option in the download overlay.  To learn more about the GoResell plan, please visit http://goanimate.com/business/videoplans.

A: At the moment it is not possible. You can use software on your computer to merge the videos together and create one big video if needed. If you wish to have this feature, let us know on the suggestions forum.

A: Yes. You have the option on your user and animation pages. By default this option is turned off, but you can switch it on to allow others to download your animation as a video.

A: If you need to download your animation more than 10 times, you will need to convert it again.

A: We will keep your animation for download for 30 days after conversion. So make sure you download it within this period of time. You will need to convert it again if you want to do so after the time limit.

A: We charge US$ 3.99 (or 400 GoBucks) for a two-minute animation. We then charge an extra US$1 per minute for longer ones.

A: If you wish to use your video for commercial purposes, you need to purchase a commercial license. To do so, select the “Commercial Use” option in the download overlay. This format will have no watermark and no end credit.

A: Missions are like quests you see in video games. They usually involve some activities that you need to perform. When you complete a mission, you will be awarded a badge, XP, and GoPoints! Everytime you visit your dashboard, we suggest three missions that are appropriate for your level. Be sure to check them out.

A: If you move your mouse over a badge or mission, a description will pop up to tell you what you need to do to complete it. Follow those directions to finish the mission. When you are done, visit the Badge section of your dashboard to claim your rewards!

To check on and to claim badges, visit the Badges section of your dashboard. You need to finish the required activity associated with a badge before you can claim it.

Some missions are designed for new users and therefore they are not appropriate for higher level users. For example, we expect tutorial related activities to be of interest only to new users. You can finish missions that are too low level for you and you will get the badge; however, XP and GoPoints will not be awarded in these cases.

The main badge gives you a title and a big icon on your user page. To choose a main badge, just visit the Badge section of your dashboard. Of course, you need to have already gotten the badge before you can set it as your main badge

There are some missions that let you redo it and claim the rewards again! Check out each badge’s description to find out more. Actually, the easier way is to just finish the suggested quests you have on the dashboard
