I know when you run into an issue it can be frustrating. But often it is a simple fix. In this case, I believe that your browser may be the culprit. As backspace does work on the TTS. I would suggest either upgrading the the latest release. Or try using a different browser to see if you continue to experience the same behavior. I would highly recommend giving Google Chrome a try, if you are not already using it.
