I used the number lock + alt key + number method and it worked: Check that number lock is on, press down alt key an dkeep it pressed while you type a numebr onthe numer pad (to the right of the keyboard) - then release the alt key, adn there it is!  e.g. 130 = é 138 = è i33 = à

Copied just to see how it is done!  Changed size and added accents.  Made a meess of the characters and their props I'm afraid!!!
