Wow, buddy.
In Brazil, the word "imitation" is very strong, it is derogatory and I think anywhere in the world.
You could claim a credit of more elegant way; although, I also not very elegant.
I confess that I liked the scene in "Speechless in Seattle," and it inspired me to create my homage.
But imitation ... It would be if I did a movie scene, like your, in the theater where there was romance...
Now, if someone makes an aquarium scene... The person will imitating you, too?
If someone using my tips, Example "Light Effect", you use a lot in animation, within the theater, is imitating me, just because the person did not mention me,  in the credits?
You used the mermaid of "TOUJOURS" and gave no credit to him... So what?  You imitated him?
I thought I'd give credit to you and the "guitar chris"... To you... Because your animation inspired me...
And the "guitar chris" because in one of his animations I discovered that the character could blink ... Only I did not ... For time limitation. But soon reedit the animation and give due credit ...
Friend, you could be more elegant and claim the credit on direct message.

nicely done: enjoyed the cinema experience...and since imitation is the highest form of flattery,  thanks for the compliment.

This is great.  I needed a good laugh before heading out to my jungle of a job where you do not know if you will be stabbed, shot, or fired.  Or maybe I will just have an ordinary day with nothing exciting.
