Many students just don't GET school. This learning approach allows students to learn by following their interests or passions.

Nice video. Amazing that I have been reading your blog, but until now I didn't know exactly what kind of classroom you had. What a great way to show what your school is all about.

Did you see in the forums that GoA is actually developing a GoAnimate for schools? There's a thread started by Alvin brainstoming ideas for what to call the site.

Very cool idea. scratchie!  This gives kids a chance to gain some real-world experience, and find out if they REALLY like, and have an aptitude for, the career that they think they'd like to pursue.  Sadly, most people don't get any real-world experience until AFTER they've finished their schooling.  Many kids pursue a career which they believe pays well, and only after entering the work-force do they find out if they actually enjoy their chosen vocation.

It reminds me of a best-selling book:  "Do what you LOVE, and the money will follow."
Emphasize joy; de-emphasize money (and the LOVE of money).
Another best-selling book, refers to "the love of money" as the root of all evil.

This sounds like a great way to get kids into careers they love!

That would be awesome! I completely agree that "school" isn't for everyone. Having to sit all day and listen is pretty counterintuitive for most students. Wouldn't it cost a lot more though?

interesting....
I could see a global school with students from all over the world learning and developing themsleves connecting the path that is sometimes blocked by race, gender, disability, religion, etc.
Thanks for showing this interesting idea Geoff!
