Agreed, Pitch it to the Rhino. :)
No, I can't agree with that. Theory is theory, despite the desire for existentialist equivocation on the matter. It's important to maintain definition of terms as they exist in reality, not in the way of quasi intellectualism that has poisoned our social communication. Much of what we've been taught in our schools in relation to religion and science is that they are two separate things, and this is from the atheist elite who invaded our education system between the years of 1850-1950, which not coincidentally has led to the anemia of our education system. Science is the revelation of God, not the refutation, as many have been lead to believe. There would be great harm in destroying science, as it shows us an incredible mind at work.
Pitch in Rhino Productions, the word "Theory" in science is an explanation for why facts are the way they are. It has to be backed up by a great deal of evidence, or it is a mere hypothesis. The expression for a scientific theory that it is 'merely a theory' comes from the people who want to undercut and destroy science and replace it with religion. However, there are also people who are pressing scientific ideas that are not yet proven, but call them 'theories' to make their ideas sound more important than they are, e.g. the String Hypothesis, is NOT a real theory, but those who like it call it 'String Theory.' It does not have even a fraction of the support it needs to be called a theory and is really just an insult.
Thanks everyone. :D
@Pitch to the Rhino Productions, It is refered to, in all history books that I read, as the Heliocentric theory. Also, Copernicus stated, that because the planets rotate around the sun as their midpoint that it was NEAR the center of the universe, not the exact center. Also, as to his theory being total FACT, he did make one miscalculation. He assumed that the planets rotations were perfectly circular. They are not.
Nice biopic, Fez. Well done. However, if something is called a theory then it cannot also be "totally true", if it is then it's a "fact". The problem for science is that it is limited to what is observable, if not observable, then it is something else... like speculation. Much in the same way that mold has always been with us but penicillin had to be "found" before medical science changed it's mind about what it thought it could do and could not do, Copernicus only proved the ineptitude of his predecessors, not a perspective from outside the human experience. Who knows what we would find if we could stand outside the influence of our universe and stop moving along with it? Would we indeed see that the Earth is the center? Who can say? But it's that limitation that keeps science like this a theory and not a fact.
Nice biopic!
This is excellent! I enjoyed it very much :)
Well done.
